Spin Study

Spin Study explores identity by reimagining the Hanukkah game of spinning the dreidel. In 2018, I photographed hundreds of dreidels and spinning tops during the eight nights of the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah. Later, I edited the images and juxtaposed them in grids. The work draws inspiration from the Bauhaus, Surrealism, and Conceptual photography. As with other projects, the goal of the series is to both honor heritage while envisioning new futures. Selected images were featured at Pulse Art Fair, Miami, Treat Gallery, 2019.
