Cooking Chronicles

The Cooking Chronicles explores the intersection of identity and food. It is part of an ongoing project in which I prepare and photograph iconic Jewish foods commonly found in New York City. The project was initially inspired by a trip to St Petersburg, Russia to visit my father’s family. Though we did not speak the same language, we bonded at the kitchen table over matzo ball soup which made a strong impression. The goal of the project is to explore and expand on Jewish cultural identity as a way to cultivate connection and foster the development of new Jewish culture.
